The rooms are basic and may consist of bunk beds so not good for elderly people. They are clean and offer private facilities which is a bonus in accommodation of this classification. The restaurant is a vast space located off the small lobby and serves all meals throughout the day at very low prices. It is also a place to hang out and meet people and their is also a bar area. Although in a very traditional part of town, the Hans Brinker is incorporated into a modern building but has expanded over the years and also offers accommodation in traditional buildings and even in a church. The lobby itself is actually quite small however, the large restaurant is next to it and offers ample space for sitting, meeting friends, eating, reading etc This is a youth hostel type accommodation and has private rooms and dorm style rooms however all rooms come with private facilities ie showers in the room, even the dormitories . It is one of the best known hostels in Amsterdam as it has its own nightclub, bar and restaurant and offers excellent value for money. it is also in a prime location close to everything that matters, ie restaurants, nightlife, museums, shops, boat trips, the Holland Casino and the Vondelpark and comes highly recommended Please note that on December 31 the new years eve party is included in the rates.
